Gross Profit vs. Net Profit — Know the difference and why it matters!

💵 Gross Profit
= Revenue – Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
What’s left after direct costs

➡️ This shows how much you make after delivering your product or service — before paying for anything else.

Think:
- Materials
- Manufacturing
- Labor directly tied to a sale

💡 Gross Profit tells you if your pricing and delivery model are working.

📈 Net Profit
= Gross Profit – All Operating Expenses
What’s left after everything

➡️ This is your real bottom line — after rent, software, marketing, admin costs, taxes, etc.

💡 Net Profit tells you if your business is actually making money.

🧠 Why This Matters?

You can have:
✅ High revenue
✅ Solid gross profit
❌ But still lose money

If overhead is out of control or you’re underpricing, net profit disappears.

Tracking both gross and net profit helps you:
✔️ Price smarter
✔️ Control spending
✔️ Grow intentionally
